Why isn't Pratap called 'the Great' like Akbar: Rajnath Singh

JODHPUR: Stating that Maharana Pratap did not get his due place ever, Union home pastor Rajnath Singh on Tuesday asked antiquarians to re-evaulate the commitment of the Rajput warrior.

"It was Maharana Pratap, who battled with extraordinary valor for opportunity and sense of pride relinquishing everything and never gave into Akbar, yet I am astounded that why our antiquarians evaluated Akbar awesome and not Pratap," Singh contended.

"I am shocked that history specialists called Akbar as extraordinary yet not Pratap. What weakness did they see in Pratap that he was not alluded to as 'the Great'," said Singh including that they bombed in assessing Pratap's stature in contrast with Akbar.

Calling upon the history specialists, he said that the time we redress this bumble and accord the due regard and say to Pratap, he generally merited.
