Yogi Adityanath govt bans liquor shops near schools, colleges, religious places; calls for strict implementation of SC order

Lucknow: In perspective of progressing dissents by a few ladies bunches against moving of alcohol shops to local locations, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh requested the state authorities on Wednesday to completely consent to the Supreme Court's requests in such manner.

After challenges in the state against the moving of alcohol shops to local locations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar today said the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, extract officer and the Police Commissioner have been coordinated to together conclude the place before moving any shop to guarantee that such occurrences are not rehashed.

Bhatnagar said that few episodes have been highlighted in which alcohol shops have been vandalized and burglarized, including that direction has been given to the District Magistrate to keep such occurrences from occurring.

"Certain shop that has been moved has seen the disdain of open. Strict request has been offered not to exchange such shops close schools, universities or religious spots. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, extract officer and the Commissioner of Police has been coordinated to mutually conclude where the shops are being moved," Bhatnagar said subsequent to holding a video meeting with all the District Magistrates of the state.

He likewise educated that even they would hold chats with the nearby NGOs challenging the moving of shops and would ask for them to fill in according to law. Read more:-International Database

"We will ask for the NGOs to act according to law and not break it and to keep their challenge serene. Strict move will be made against the one taking law in their grasp," he said.
